The California Energy Commission, a provider of funds for solar electricity systems on new homes, and the California Public Utilities Commission, which helps fund solar systems on both existing homes and businesses, have created a solar Web site.
The new site supports the California Solar Initiative, which is the state's goal to create 3,000 MW of new, solar-produced electricity by 2017. The site also supports the New Solar Homes Partnership, a $2.8 billion 10-year program that was approved in January of this year to put solar on a million rooftops in the state.
