New York Makes $60 Million Available For Solar Projects

New York has made $60 million available for solar photovoltaic projects under the third round of the NY-Sun Competitive PV initiative.

Administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the funding opportunity is intended for business, industry and institutional sites that are large energy users. It is the final solicitation under the current iteration of the NY-Sun Competitive PV program, which is for systems larger than 200 kW. Proposals are due in July.

NYSERDA has recently awarded $18 million for 22 projects under the program that will add 22 MW of solar capacity in the Hudson Valley and New York City. This funding leverages private investment that will result in a total of $55 million in new PV power infrastructure projects.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo launched the NY-Sun initiative in 2012.
