Newport Corp. has introduced its Oriel Sol3A line of large-area, constant-wave solar simulators. The Sol3A uses a xenon lamp and features a proprietary filter to meet all three Class A performance parameters (spectral match , non-uniformity of irradiance and temporal instability of irradiance) without compromising the one-sun output power.
Each version is certified to IEC 60904-9 2007, JIS C 8912 and ASTM E 927-05 standards. Newport says these solar simulators are available in sizes such as 2 in. x 2 in., 4 in. x 4 in., 6 in. x 6 in. and 8 in. x 8 in., making them suitable for the test and measurement of solar cells.
