Pete's Tire Barns has completed a 170 kW PV installation at its Orange, Mass., distribution center. The system, which comprises 850 photovoltaic panels, was installed atop the three-acre center by Andover, Mass.-based Nexamp.
According to Pete's Tire Barns, half of the modules were built in the U.S. The installation is part of a wider effort to reduce the company's environmental impact. Other measures include recycling more than 80,000 pounds of rubber each month into floor mats and over 360,000 pounds of polyurethane each year.
