OPDE ITALIA – part of the multinational Spain-based OPDE Group – has started the construction of six new photovoltaic solar farms in Italy's Piedmont region. The projects are expected to cumulatively provide 26 MW of electricity.
The new farms, which are located in the cities of Tortona, Alessandria, Pedrosa and Fosano, represent a total investment of more than 120 million euros. Construction will involve the installation of more than 91,000 230 W Trina modules, 2,027 inverter units manufactured by SMA, and 2,027 single-axis MECASOLAR trackers.
The projects are expected to be completed by March 31.
