Open Energy Corp., a Solana Beach, Calif.-headquartered provider of building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing materials, and Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd., a global manufacturer of PV cells and modules, have formed a partnership. According to the companies, they will market each other's broad portfolio BIPV products within the North American market.
Under the agreement, Suntech will provide cost-effective and high-quality production for Open Energy's SolarSave PV tiles. Suntech will also have the right to acquire up to 5% of the outstanding shares of Open Energy as part of this strategic cooperation, the companies say.
