Open Energy In New Pact With PV Powered

Open Energy Corp. Solana Beach, Calif., has announced a memorandum of understanding establishing an original equipment manufacturing (OEM) deal with inverter manufacturer PV Powered to provide complete, ready-to-install solar energy inverters and monitoring systems to the new home construction industry. These products will be distributed primarily through Open Energy's national distribution agreement with Eagle Roofing Products of Rialto, Calif.

Under this agreement, the Bend, Ore.-based PV Powered will provide OEM versions of its residential grid-tied solar power inverters combined with Open Energy's SolarSave roofing tile products to deliver building-integrated photovoltaic systems for roofing contractors and electricians.

‘This relationship enables Open Energy to offer its customers 'end-to-end' integrated solar systems targeted specifically to the new residential construction market,’ says David Field, chief operating officer of Open Energy. ‘We now can provide our customers with fully monitored, maintained and supported solar electric solutions designed specifically for new home buyers, with customer service functions designed for our building products and construction channel partners.’
