Buffalo Niagara Enterprise (BNE), a regional economic development and marketing organization, has launched a marketing and business development campaign aimed at attracting photovoltaic companies to the Buffalo-Niagara region.
Recently, Globe Specialty Metals established operations in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to market 25% of its high-grade silicon production to solar product companies and other end users located in the state at a 15% discount.
‘Timing is everything in economic development and investment attraction, and Globe's emergence on the scene, combined with this new and compelling incentive created by our access to one of the world's most precious commodities, made this the right time to launch this campaign,’ says Thomas A. Kucharski, BNE's president and CEO.
The campaign consists of the development of marketing collateral pieces promoting the region's assets and advantages, and a targeted direct mail program aimed at approximately 70 specific companies worldwide, including groups in Germany, China, the U.K., Switzerland and Spain.
