Origin Energy Ltd., an integrated energy company based in Sydney, Australia, and Micron Technology Inc., a semiconductor company based in Boise, Idaho, have formed a 50-50 joint venture with a focus on the development of photovoltaic technology.
According to Andrew Scott, executive general manager of major development projects at Origin, the near-term objective of the JV is to combine the work Origin has done in solar development with Micron's capabilities, and to examine opportunities for commercialization.
