Ontario-based OYA Solar Inc. (OYA) has commissioned a 718.08 kW photovoltaic power plant, part of a 3.5 MW rooftop solar installation for manufacturer Atlas Tube in Harrow, Ontario.
The existing solar facility features 2,244 solar modules and Polar Racking's rooftop ballasted mounting system, incorporating over 30 tons of steel tubing supplied by Atlas Tube. The PV plant has an expected output of nearly 897.13 MWh of electricity per year.
Polar Racking, one of OYA's sister companies, also incorporates Atlas tubing into its ground-mount racking systems.
‘We are excited to have teamed with OYA Solar and Polar Racking to complete this project at our Atlas Tube manufacturing facility in Harrow,’ says David Seeger, president of JMC Steel Group, which is the parent company of Atlas Tube. ‘This solar installation proves that steel tubing is a viable solution for rooftop applications.’
