Panasonic Corp. has installed a 1 MW solar system on the roof of a manufacturing facility in El Salvador.
The installation was for Hilcasa, a subsidiary of textiles and finished goods manufacturer Intradeco. The companies say the system comprises 4,028 Panasonic panels.
According to the companies, a second phase of the project is expected to involve the installation of 1,680 panels, which would provide an additional 436 kW for the Hilcasa factory.
In addition, Intradesa, the sister company of Hilcasa, also plans to install a 976 kW system on its roof that will comprise 3,884 Panasonic panels, the companies note.
