Perpetual Energy Systems, a national power purchase agreement (PPA) provider/financier of renewable energy systems, and Santa Clara University (SCU) have activated a 967.68 kW solar energy system. The system complements SCU's existing solar array and is projected to generate an estimated 1.42 million kWh of energy during its first year of operation.
The systems are located on the rooftops of the university's Leavey Event Center, the Pat Malley Recreation Center, and the parking garage. SCU entered into a PPA with Perpetual that enables the university to host the solar installations without any capital outlay. The system is owned and operated – and will be maintained – by Perpetual.
