PetersenDean Roofing and Solar has formed an exclusive partnership with SunRun, a provider of residential solar financing, to offer a leasing program to California residents that enables purchasers to buy a new solar home at the price of a standard home, locking in low, fixed electricity bills for 20 years.
As utility fees continue to increase in California, this program allow households to pay as little as $50 a month on average, saving families more than $800 per year in the first year and tens of thousands of dollars over the course of the lease, according to the companies.
Most solutions provided through the program require no money down, and the lower operating costs of these homes give the homes a higher resale value. For homebuilders, this program is an opportunity to provide new solar homes to consumers at an affordable rate without affecting buyers' home loan eligibility, the company adds.
