New Jersey-based Petra Solar and Washington, D.C.-based Caspian Renewable Energy Inc. have completed the installation of a 5 MW solar power plant in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The project, located in Awali Township, will be owned by Bahrain Petroleum Co. (BAPCO) and is expected to deliver at least 8 GWh of electricity per year. The facility incorporates Petra's SunWave micro-inverters.
The BAPCO project is part of a drive by the kingdom to meet up to 10% of its energy demands through renewable energy.
"In addition to the technological value created as a result of this bilateral cooperation, this project marks an important milestone in the public-private partnership between Bahrain and the United States," says M. Marty Youssefiani, CEO of Caspian Renewable Energy.
