PG&E Expands Solar Generation

The California utility Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) has announced plans to 553 MW of electricity generated from a solar power that will be built in the Mojave Desert by Solel Solar, an Israeli company.

PG&E estimates the new plant will generate enough electricity for approximately 400,000 homes in northern and central California. The new plant is expected to begin operations by 2011.
