Phoenix Solar AG, a photovoltaic system integrator, has signed a framework agreement with MiaSole, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based manufacturer of copper indium gallium diselenide thin-film photovoltaic solar panels.
The agreement, which runs until 2013, enables Phoenix Solar to extend its product portfolio with another quality supplier capable of highly cost-efficient manufacturing, the companies state. Phoenix Solar has placed an order for an initial 4.5 MW of thin-film modules from MiaSole for delivery in the second quarter of this year.
The framework agreement also includes a recycling warranty where required. At the end of the solar modules' lifetime, customers have the option of having the modules removed by MiaSole and recycled or reconditioned.
