Phoenix Solar Inc., a subsidiary of Germany-headquartered Phoenix Solar AG, and Silicon Ranch Corp. have formed a strategic alliance to develop, finance and construct solar photovoltaic power plants in Tennessee and the Southeast.

The first project is expected to be a 1.4 MW installation in Pulaski, Tenn., where Silicon Ranch has acquired 25 acres at the Pulaski Industrial Park on Elkton Highway near the city. Phoenix Solar, with support from Chapel Electric, has begun construction on the plant. The company will also provide long-term operations and maintenance support to monitor and optimize the plant's ongoing energy production.Â

The ground-mounted solar power project is the centerpiece of a plan by Silicon Ranch to develop the Pulaski Energy Park, which – in addition to the operating power plant – will include a solar training campus consisting of administrative, classroom and service buildings.
