Poindexter Nut, a huller, dryer and processer of walnuts, and system integrator Cenergy Power have begun construction on a 1.1 MW solar photovoltaic system at Poindexter Nut's new processing facility in Selma, Calif.
The system is expected to generate over 1.7 million kWh of power annually, which will offset over 65% of the new facility's energy consumption. It will span across 115,000 square feet of roof space and cover more than 15,000 square feet of employee parking spaces as shade structures.
