Power-One Releases New Aurora Solar PV Inverters

0

Power-One Inc., a provider of power conversion and management solutions, has introduced five new series in the Aurora family of renewable-energy inverters.

The Aurora PVI-3.0, PVI-3.6 and PVI-4.2 inverters provide 230 VAC single-phase outputs rated at 3.0 kW, 3.6 kW and 4.2 kW, at up to 96.8% efficiency (Euro 96%). Other features include full-rated output power available up to 50 degrees C ambient, and a 90 to 580 VDC input range. Applications flexibility is enhanced by optional parallel-array-input configuration capabilities, and input-blocking diodes on PVI-4.2 models. A five-year warranty is extendable to 12 years as an option.

Aurora PVI-10.0 and PVI-12.5 inverters provide three-phase 400 VAC outputs (with or without neutral) rated at 10 kW and 12.5 kW, at up to 97.8% efficiency (Euro 97.3%). These products feature a 200 to 850 VDC input range and a flat efficiency curve that ensures performance across a wide array of operating conditions. Reliability is enhanced by an industry-first string-inverter design that does not use electrolytic capacitors, the company says. A 10-year warranty is standard; extended warranty periods are optionally available.

All of the latest-generation of Aurora products offer dual-input sections with independent, high-speed MPPTs that optimize energy harvesting from multiple PV strings oriented in different directions. Additional features include grid-connected operation certified to international standards, integrated RS-485 and USB serial communications, IP65 (NEMA 4) rated enclosures, and optional DC input disconnect switches.
