Taos, N.M.-based PPC Solar says that Kit Carson Electric Cooperative has conditionally approved an agreement under which PPC Solar would construct a 1.5 MW solar array in Taos County.
The project would be the largest solar installation in the county and would generate an estimated 2,985,859 kWh of solar power in the first year of operation, according to PPC Solar.
Kit Carson Electric Cooperative has conditionally approved a power purchase agreement under which it would purchase solar electricity from the project for the next 25 years. The agreement is subject to approval by Tri-State Generation and Transmission, which is slated to consider the agreement on Dec. 7, and permitting by Taos County by Dec. 31, PPC Solar notes.Â
