Progress Energy Carolinas, which recently signed contracts for three megawatt-sized solar photovoltaic plants, continues to seek proposals for potential renewable energy projects and alternative energy providers.
The next deadline is Nov. 11, the utility says. Bidders responding by that date will be notified by March 2009 of the intent to enter further discussions. Solar energy bids with capacities of 50 kW or greater will be accepted. Priority will be given to proposals that are expected to be operational before 2011.
