PSEG Solar Obtains Ownership Interests In Two Facilities

PSEG Solar Source – subsidiary of PSEG Power, a power generation company that is part of the Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) family – has gained ownership interests in two solar facilities from Colorado-based, privately held, solar energy generation company juwi Inc.

The acquisition comprises the PSEG Lawrence Livermore Solar Energy Center – a 3.9 MW DC facility located in Livermore, Calif. – and the PSEG Pavant II Solar Energy Center – a 62.7 MW DC project to be situated in Millard County, Utah. The investments collectively represent almost $110 million and augment PSEG Solar’s portfolio to 214.6 MW DC.

The 3.9 MW facility has a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Western Area Power Administration and is currently under construction by juwi, which is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor, as well as operator, for both projects.

The Pavant II center has a 20-year PPA with PacifiCorp and, once completed, will signify PSEG Solar’s largest solar facility.

The Lawrence Livermore center will begin operations in the first quarter of 2016, and commercial operations for the Pavant II center are scheduled to commence by the end of this year.
