The Arizona Corporation Commission has begun accepting public comments on the Hualapai Valley solar project, a 340 MW facility scheduled to be built near Kingman, Ariz.
The Associated Press reports that the project will be located on 4,000 acres of private land near Red Lake. The Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission approved zoning for the project in October, while the county's Board of Supervisors gave its approval in November.
Since the project was first announced, however, some residents have expressed on the quantity of water that the project will require and its impact on the local groundwater and wildlife.
