Q-Cells AG has formally extended its existing solar-grade silicon supply agreement with Becancour Silicon Inc. (BSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Timminco Ltd., for 2010 through 2013.
Under the terms of the agreement, BSI will supply 6,000 metric tons of silicon per year between 2010 and 2013, as anticipated in the initial announcement of the agreement in March. Pricing for deliveries in 2010 is already fixed, and pricing for 2011 to 2013 will be based upon market conditions, within a fixed floor-to-ceiling price range.
