QuantaSol Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of concentrated photovoltaic solar cells, says it is moving into pilot production following a successful period of global customer sampling.
QuantaSol's technology is based on adding multiple quantum wells to triple-junction solar cells. The company notes that it has been sampling with customers across Europe, Asia and the U.S. for several months, and has worked closely with system vendors to enhance their systems by maximizing energy harvest.
QuantaSol has accumulated an order book of more than 1 MW of cells, which will be delivered through the first half of 2011.
