REC Solar Completes Latest PV Array For IKEA

0

Home furnishings retailer IKEA has inaugurated a 1.063 MW PV installation at its store in Paramus, N.J.

The 132,000 square-foot PV array includes 4,620 panels. IKEA Paramus' program will produce approximately 1.36 GWh of electricity annually, the company says. As with IKEA's other installations, the array is owned and operated by IKEA rather than under a power purchase agreement.

The Paramus installation represents the 17th completed solar energy project for IKEA in the U.S., with 20 more locations under way. Its eventual solar presence is expected to total 30.8 MW.

For the development, design and installation of the Paramus store's customized solar power system, IKEA contracted with REC Solar.
