REC Solar and Mitsubishi Electric have completed two solar installations located at Costco Wholesale properties in Kauai and Kona, Hawaii. The two systems, which are 680 kW (DC) each, hold the distinction of being the largest solar arrays in the state of Hawaii, to date.
‘The state's strategic solar incentive program is providing Hawaii with a unique opportunity to expand their economy beyond agriculture and tourism,’ says Angiolo Laviziano, CEO and president of REC Solar.
The completion of these installations marks the beginning of REC Solar's large-scale commercial projects for Costco. The company has also recently completed solar electric systems at Costco locations in Goleta and San Luis Obispo, Calif.
