REC, a Norway-based supplier of solar panels, says its Singapore-manufactured modules are not subject to the ongoing anti-subsidy and anti-dumping investigations at the European Union (EU).
The investigations include solar panels, cells and wafers originating in China and imported into the EU. ‘Our solar panels are manufactured in and shipped from Singapore and do not contain Chinese cells or wafers, nor other Chinese solar products subject to the investigations and tariff threat,’ says Luc Graré, senior vice president of solar sales and marketing at REC.
The company also reiterated that it does not believe a trade war is in the best interest of the European PV industry.
‘Our position towards the ongoing EU solar trade investigations has not changed. We strongly believe in open and fair competition,’ Grare says. ‘We see that the latest decision on the solar import registry unsettles distributors and installers and causes turmoil in solar markets.’
