ReneSola Ltd. says a 2.5 MW solar photovoltaic plant it supplied near Roswell, N.M., has become operational. The company provided 7,200 of its 250 W polycrystalline modules for the ground-mounted GSE NM-2 facility, which will supply electricity to the neighboring communities.
Green States Energy (GSE) developed the project, with S&C Electric Co. providing the construction services. GSE says the new facility is paired with the existing GSE NM-1 solar plant completed in 2011. Combined, the two facilities have a capacity of 5.4 MW and are expected to generate over 9 GWh of electricity per year. The electricity produced is sold to Xcel Energy.
