ReneSola To Supply 22 MW Of Solar Modules For Two U.K. Projects

ReneSola Ltd. is supplying 22 MW of its polycrystalline Virtus I and Virtus II solar modules for use in two ground-mounted projects in the U.K.

The solar photovoltaic facilities are Low Carbon's 10.8 MW project in Bottom Plain, Dorset, and GDF Suez's 15.6 MW Cofely project in Bilsham Farm, Arundel. The solar farms will use both 250 W and 255 W modules, which were manufactured outside of China on a partnership basis.

Ian Glover, general manager of ReneSola UK, says the company's ability to ensure quality control with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners has been essential for its participation with engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firms on the projects.

‘It's great to work with Low Carbon again and a real pleasure to bring on a new partnership with GDF Suez,’ Glover says. ‘We anticipate high demand for our modules over the next two quarters and have been working with our OEM partners to ensure stock will be available for all EPC contractors rushing to complete projects before anticipated changes in U.K. solar policy.’
