Renewable Properties LLC, a developer and financier of utility solar energy projects, has appointed Brian von Moos its new chief development officer (CDO).

As CDO, van Moos will be responsible for Renewable Properties’ overall strategy, origination and development of greenfield solar and energy storage projects. He has over 15 years of experience developing commercial and utility solar projects, the company says.

Von Moos joins Renewable Properties from independent power producer Coronal Energy (which was acquired by Lincoln Clean Energy), where he was vice president of origination, managing sales and the origination of power purchase agreements for large solar and battery storage projects. Prior to Coronal, Brian worked at Borrego Solar for 12 years, holding several leadership positions, including vice president of utility project development, where he oversaw the development and origination of small utility solar projects throughout North America.

“A great deal of knowledge about the energy markets, an understanding of solar regulations and an overall persistence is required in order to develop, finance and build utility-scale solar energy projects across the U.S.,” says Aaron Halimi, founder and president of Renewable Properties. “Our goal is to become a leader in locally sited solar for utilities across the country, and having Brian on the team ensures the company is able to execute on the existing pipeline, grow the team and lead our efforts into new markets.”
