Renewable Research Grants Awarded In Ohio

Ohio's state government is providing $20.9 million in grants for locally-based renewable energy projects. The grants, which are being distributed through the Ohio Third Frontier Commission, will be divided among 29 university and private sector projects.

Three solar projects are receiving grants: The Garland Company of Cleveland, receiving $1 million for its Garland building-integrated photovoltaic systems project; Toldeo-based Xunlight 26 Solar LLC, receiving $996,924 for its flexible thin-film CdTe PV modules project; and Mount Vernon-based Replex Plastics, receiving $350,000 for its concentrated solar power project.
