Ricoh Electronics Inc. has completed the installation of a rooftop solar energy system at its Tustin, Calif., headquarters. The system is expected to supply up to 10% (approximately 350,000 kWh) of the building's electricity.
The company engaged SPG Solar Inc., a commercial solar energy system developer, to manage the project. SPG Solar installed nearly 1,000Â crystalline silicon modules. Ricoh Electronics offset approximately 60% of the solar system's cost by incentives offered by the federal and state government and expects to recoup its costs for the project in 5.5 years.
