Ewing, N.J.-headquartered WorldWater & Solar Technologies Corp., a developer and marketer of proprietary high-power solar systems, has hired Sean C. Rooney as vice president of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) operations. In this newly created position, Rooney will direct all worldwide EPC operations for the company – including those of program management, construction management and supply chain management – with the goal of building large, utility-scale solar power plants.
Rooney has previously served as global director of construction services for the Fluor Corp., one of the world's largest engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services companies.
Before joining Fluor, Rooney spent several years as technical services manager for Kvaerner John Brown, a provider of engineering and construction services, technology products and integrated solutions. Earlier, he held positions as technical services manager, subcontract coordinator and engineer for Brown & Root Inc., a Texas-based engineering services and heavy construction firm.
