RRE Power LLC, through its subsidiary RRE Austin Solar LLC, has broken ground on the 60 MW Pflugerville solar farm in Pflugerville, Texas. The 720-acre farm will utilize more than 400,000 solar panels, which are expected to be installed beginning in March 2011.
Construction is scheduled to be finished by the fourth quarter of 2011. Electricity generated by the farm will be fed to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas grid.
RRE Power adds that it has initiated the development process for a 60 MW solar farm in Big Spring, Texas, by its subsidiary company, RRE Big Spring Solar LLC, and has several other sites under evaluation for development, including sites in Colorado and Ohio.
