Salt River Project’s Energy Program Offers Incentives To New Arizona Home Buyers

0

Valley Homebuilder VIP, a Mesa, Ariz.-based building company, and Salt River Project (SRP), a provider of power to the Phoenix region, have partnered to offer home buyers the option of adding a 2 to 4 kW solar electric system to their new home through SRP's EarthWise Solar Energy Program.

The EarthWise program provides incentives for customers to install solar energy systems on their homes and businesses. With the program, along with state and federal tax credits, a 2 kW system would be virtually no cost to a home buyer, the companies say. A 4 kW system would cost the homeowner about $8,000, which could be added to a mortgage.

This offer is available to all homes purchased by the end of 2006 in the Whisper Mountain, Sonoran Wells, Dobbins Crossing, Vaquero Estates and Nauvoo Station communities in Arizona. American Solar Electric Inc., a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based design firm that specializes in PV systems, will be the exclusive system provider.
