SANYO Energy S.A. de C.V., a subsidiary of SANYO Electric Co. Ltd., has officially opened and started production in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The plant is assembling SANYO's HIT (Heterjunction with Intrinsic Thin-layer) solar modules at a capacity of 50 MW annually, with the assembled panels to be used in installations in North America.
SANYO says it is augmenting its facilities with the necessary equipment and construction of new facilities for future growth in response to market demand, moving forward to reach goals set for an annual global production capacity of at least 600 MW by fiscal year 2010.
