Satcon Technology Corp., a provider of utility-scale power-conversion products for the renewable energy market, has been selected by SOLON to supply 12 1.25 MW Prism Platforms for Pacific Gas and Electric's (PG&E's) upcoming 15 MW ground-mount installation near Fresno, Calif. The project is part of PG&E's 250 MW Utility Owned Generation PV Program, a five-year plan for the construction of utility-owned solar power plants.

For this project, SOLON will utilize the 1.25 MW Prism Platform, Satcon's fully integrated medium-voltage (MV) product complete with factory-integrated step-up transformers, MV disconnect switches, and power conversion electronics optimized for utility-scale solar PV installations, Satcon says.

Each Prism Platform will be configured to include Equinox inverters, Satcon's third-generation central inverter, which provides 98.5% efficiency and a wide thermal operating range, the company adds.
