Satcon Technology Corp., a provider of utility-scale distributed power solutions for the renewable energy market, has been chosen by Suntech Energy Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd., to help power a 1 MW solar energy installation hosted at The North Face West Coast Distribution Center in Visalia, Calif.
The recently completed project is financed, owned and operated by Recurrent Energy, a distributed power company. The solar installation features Satcon's 500 kW PowerGate Plus photovoltaic inverters.
Each Satcon 500 kW PowerGate Plus inverter includes the company's next-generation Edge MPPT solution, which enables large-scale installations to maximize power production and significantly increase the overall efficiency of each system, the company notes.
