Satcon Technology Corp., a provider of utility-grade power-conversion solutions for the renewable energy market, says its Solstice has been selected for the 63 MW CIRO One Solar PV Plant in Puerto Rico.
CIRO One will utilize 126 Satcon Solstice 500 kW solutions, which are designed for large-scale commercial and utility-scale solar power plants. The solar power plant is situated on 180 acres within the Lapas District of Salinas and is projected to generate 116 million kWh.
The Solstice is particularly suited for this project because it allows a large project like CIRO to be divided up into increments of less than 3 kW, making it easier to address geographical constraints and challenges associated with such terrain, notes Steve Rhoades, Satcon's president and CEO.
CIRO One will begin construction this month.
