Satcon Technology Corp. says that Prism, a fully integrated, 1 MW medium-voltage solution for utility-scale solar PV installations, is now available.
Prism is a fully customizable platform, complete with factory integrated step-up transformers, switchgear and electronics. The product will be delivered complete in an all-climate outdoor enclosure and ready to connect to the PV array and utility grid, enabling rapid installation through a modular prepackaged design, according to Satcon.
Prism is designed to increase the ease and speed of a typical utility-scale PV installation, while also providing power production efficiencies. The product is based on factory-integrated pairs of Satcon's PowerGate Plus 500kW solar PV inverters.
‘We are at an inflexion point in the solar PV industry, where utility-scale projects are becoming more prevalent,’ notes Dr. Leo Casey, chief technology officer and vice president of engineering for Satcon.
