SCC Solar Energy Group (SCC Solar), a subsidiary of Silicon Chemical Corp. (SCC), has been engaged by Silfab Ontario Inc., a new subsidiary of Italian photovoltaic provider Silfab SPA, to provide program and engineering construction management for Silfab Ontario's new solar module manufacturing plant in Mississauga, Ontario.
Silfab announced its plans for this new manufacturing plant last June and has secured a production facility in Mississauga, with plans to start the first phase of production in early 2011.
SCC Solar will collaborate with Green to Green Engineering (G2G), a division of Silfab that developed the production process and equipment specifications for the Mississauga plant. G2G Engineering will handle the module production line design and processes, while SCC Solar will supply the program control and engineering for the construction of the building, utilities and all other general services for the project.
