Southern California Edison (SCE) has begun construction on a 6.7 MW photovoltaic power plant at a site in the San Joaquin valley.
The 29,400-panel solar array will be located on 32 acres of city land adjacent to the Porterville, Calif., airport and will be connected directly to SCE's nearest neighborhood distribution circuit and benefit all SCE customers in the region.
The construction project is expected to create approximately 125 jobs for central and Southern California workers, SCE notes.
