Southern California Edison (SCE) has canceled its contract to buy the power produced by the Calico Solar Project, a 663 MW concentrating solar power plant under development by Calico Solar LLC, a subsidiary of Tessera Solar. The project received California Energy Commission approval last month.
Citing a nondisclosure agreement, SCE has not stated a reason for its withdrawing from the power purchase agreement (PPA), according to the San Diego Union Tribune. Tessera Solar is reportedly pursuing alternative plans for securing a PPA.
