SCHOTT Solar Introduces Universal Thin-Film Solar Module

0

Germany-based SCHOTT Solar has introduced the new framed version of its ASI F-90 thin-film module. According to the company, the module is particularly well suited for large roofs and open surfaces in industrial and rural areas. An alternative module appropriate for off-grid usage is also available.

With a starting output of 86 W, the ASI F-90 module can deliver up to 10% more power per watt than comparable crystalline modules, SCHOTT Solar says. In addition, the module's installation cost is expected to be lower than that of conventionally mounted frameless laminates, and the need for fewer parallel connections provides additional cost savings in electrical wiring.

The ASI F-90 modules will be manufactured in high volumes starting in September.
