SCHOTT Solar's Dr. Nikolaus Benz and Dr. Thomas Kuckelkorn have been nominated for one of the most prestigious innovation prizes in Germany: the Federal President's Prize for Innovation and Technology.
Under the direction of Benz and Kuckelkorn, SCHOTT Solar has developed a concentrating solar power receiver for use in parabolic trough solar power plants. SCHOTT Solar's receiver technology enables solar irradiation to be trapped using large reflector surfaces, bundled, and then converted into usable energy.
