SCHOTT Solar, Solland Solar Form Partnership

0

SCHOTT Solar and Solland Solar have signed a partnership agreement that comprises technology license agreements, joint R&D efforts and joint production for back-contacted solar modules.

Under the agreement, SCHOTT Solar will gain access to Solland's Sunweb technology for back-contact solar cells and PV modules, and Solland will benefit from SCHOTT Solar's experience in module engineering and production, thus leading to faster market entrance of the Sunweb modules, the companies explain.

The core of the Sunweb technology is a back-contact cell based on metal wrap-through technology, with a metallization pattern on the front side. The cells are integrated into the module, making use of Solland's patented In-Laminated Soldering technology.

SCHOTT Solar and Solland Solar will run a module pilot production line that will be built at a Solland facility in the Netherlands, the companies add.
