Schurter has unveiled a new solar fuse and a fuseholder, which are designed to provide protection in photovoltaic applications. The 1,000 V DC fuse features a current range from 1 Amps to 30 Amps. As PV systems have grown in size, so have their circuit protection requirements, such as voltage rating, the company notes.
The wire bonding makes the fuse stable and reliable, with an operating temperature range of -40 degrees C to 85 degrees C, according to Schurter. The ASO fuse is intended to provide protection from overvoltage conditions in solar panels (strings), inverters, battery charges and combiner boxes.
The touch-safe fuseholder is designed for grid-tie or off-grid array combiners and standard DIN rail mount.
