Seaward Solar Releases Clamp Meter For PV System Diagnostic Testing

0

Seaward Solar says it has introduced a new AC/DC clamp meter designed for the measurement and diagnostic testing of solar PV systems.

According to the company, the Seaward Power Clamp is capable of measuring DC and AC circuit power, as well as RMS voltage and current, harmonic distortion, power factor, resistance and continuity, diode check and capacitance.

The product has been specially designed for use by solar PV installers and technicians interested in power measurement and analysis on AC and DC systems and carrying out diagnostic checks on inverters.

The Power Clamp can be used for maintenance and troubleshooting of the PV system after commissioning and to ensure that the inverter and other system components are working properly, Seaward Solar adds.

For power efficiency analysis, the Seaward Power Clamp clips over the cable to measure current from the inverter, and the supplied in-line connectors can be used to measure the DC voltage while the PV modules are connected to the inverter, the company explains.

The new Seaward Power Clamp also has full clamp on multi-meter functions and is suitable for use on systems up to 600A AC or DC current and 1,000 V.
