Veeco Instruments Inc. says it has hired Dr. Johannes Segner as its chief technology officer (CTO) for the company's solar equipment business.
Segner joins Veeco from Solibro GmbH, a manufacturer of copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS)-based solar cells, where he held the position of chief operating officer. In his new role, Segner will be responsible for establishing Veeco's technical vision for CIGS solar products and leading the development of technology strategy for product platforms, technology road maps, partnerships and external relationships.
